9 eager drivers with their Morgans turned up at Snetterton on a dry morning, but with threatening rain, to do battle on the 2.96 mile “300” circuit.
Grid positions were decided in the dampening 20 minute qualifying session.
Pole position and fastest Class A driver was Keith Ahlers.
Tim qualified 14th and 1st in Class C out of 8 competitors in this Class.
There were to be 2 races in the afternoon – both in dry conditions.
After a tough battle with Phil Tisdall for Class C honours, Tim triumphed by 0.49 seconds in the first race.
The prospect of an even closer fight loomed for the second race, as grid positions were set according to finishing order in the first race.
Tim made a sensational start, overtaking several Class B cars on the first lap. After that the pressure was not so threatening, although there was room for error!
Tim won the second race with a time of 21:33.879 some four seconds quicker the second Class C car of Steve Mcdonald.
So, two wins from two races for the New Elms Class C Plus 8!
Keith won both races, closely followed by William Plant in their Class A Plus 8’s.
John Bevan had a steady race and his lap times improved by over 10 seconds per lap.
