We arrived at our house in Spain late last night. We really put the Mog – and ourselves (!) – through its paces with 600 miles on windy mountain roads.
It was great fun and didn’t miss a beat. Kate says it’s the best car we’ve ever owned, which is high praise indeed.

I just wanted to say thank you for the Overall Shopping Experience with you.

I fitted my dampers and they fit perfectly and were very easy to fit…..I have adjusted them as you instructed me to and went for a test drive.

And oh my god, my car is different NOW. So good, so fantastic, I love my Morgan even more……I expected the suspension to get better but not so much. Suddenly there is so much Feedback and weight transfer……

I have just paid the invoice through bank transfer – worth every penny!

I know you sorted out the brakes and that was why I came but the car just drives so better now that the steering has been sorted.

As I said this afternoon, I have found the maintenance home for my car.  I was obviously going to be impressed by the knowledge and expertise in your team but it’s the attention to detail and the care that’s going to bring me back.

The car is transformed – of course it brakes well but the steering is amazing

Just to say Tim …. You and your team have done a great job on the roadster …. Front springs are more compliant …. Brakes were perfect with no fade on a 2800m col descent as (per picture!)

“I am sorry for taking so long to report my impression of the upgrades you did on my Plus Four but I wanted to take some time getting used to the way the changes have affected the car overall.  Since collecting the car from you I had not driven it much until I recently took it to Croyde in Devon where I had the opportunity to do a long drive and use it every day on different types of roads.  I can now say the changes have made what was the great car into a fantastic car.  As someone on the Morgan forum who had the same upgrades done once put it “it is the car that it should have always been”.

The suspension has made the ride more comfortable and compliant   All Morgan owners love their cars, otherwise we would never buy them, but I am sure some would agree that after a spirited drive down a B road you get out rather disappointed at the ride quality especially when you hit a pothole which feels like someone had taken a lump hammer to your spine.  The new setup has eliminated much if this discomfort and has made the handling and ride comfort you would expect of a much more modern car. Although when you drive over a pothole you still feel it, rather than jarring your eyes out of their sockets it takes it in it stride with just a slight bump.  Even my wife has noticed a big difference and is much happier with the ride quality.

The power delivery has really made a big change to the way the car drives and had made it much more user friendly.  Before the upgrade the engine felt rather asthmatic and although you could feel the power was there it was really rather restrained.  Now the engine breaths a lot better and feels eager to deliver its power which makes the driving experience much more engaging in all driving situations.  The increase in torque has also made a big difference especially in town.  Before I would be constantly changing between third and fourth gears whereas now, I just leave it in fourth gear and cruise through easily.   In terms of the overall power delivery I would describe it as quick rather than fast, for that you need a turbo which as you know Morgan now do, but it is more than quick enough for me and for the build of the car.

All in all the upgrades have made for a much more relaxing drive but with the added bonus that when you want to play it is a much more rewarding and engaging experience.

You have transformed my Plus 4 , I’m delighted.  The car revs and pulls so much more quickly – 2000 revs in 4th starts to build well, but 2500 – 4000 it goes like a dingbat!  Great trip back, but of course loads of slow drivers, 20 mph and tractors so I just got a glimpse of what it could do.  Took it out today and got going on a brief stretch of M27, then A roads – I don’t normally take it up to 80, but it shot up there on the motorway and was hugely responsive in fourth 2000 upwards.  Also, second and third gear acceleration much improved.  I’ll get a passenger to help with 0-60 timings.  Anyway, delighted, many thanks!!

Thank you for looking after us so well during my suspension up-grade.

You guys have done a great job and I’m really happy with the car. The journey home was just short  of 100 miles and the more I drove it the happier I became.

Once on home territory and familiar roads the improvement  really started to notice. The usual pot holes and traffic  calming which has been such a pain in the  past is now  soooo much better, its a pleasure to drive 🙂 Thank you for the loan car, it really  made all the difference.

WHAT A NICE RIDE!

Thanks for every thing today. 

I must say there is a noticeable difference in the ride.

Where as before the car on hitting any sort of bump / hole in the road would “impact”. Now it is much smoother. Yes you still are aware of the bump / hole, but that constant impact / shudder has significantly reduced.

I really had no expectations as to the level of improvement in the ride. So far on the trip back to Sway I am impressed.

I also notice on cornering the improvement. On cornering fast, the front tyres used to “bounce” when going round the corner. Now it is smoother. Better constant grip.

Let us see how the car performs when next in the Spanish mountains

I have now done sufficient mileage since collecting my Morgan from you to offer some considered observations.   I hope they are helpful.

The Rutherford suspension you fitted is more compliant and better damped, with more comfortable ride and much better defined steering than the Suplex set-up it replaces.

By all measures, it is also a clear improvement on the harsh factory settings.

In short, the car is now properly drivable.

Overall, I was very impressed with the standard of workmanship and the careful, forensic way your team spotted and corrected a number of minor issues that I had failed to spot. 

They could not have been more helpful and I am very happy to recommend your services.

My Morgan +4 1998 model drove as you would expect with the original front and rear suspension with no big problems.

Having had the new suspension fitted front and rear the handling of the car has improved dramatically  and the car is now a dream to drive
